Hello, my name is Carole and I am a Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I am an Accredited member of the BACP and work within their ethical guidelines. I am trained and qualified in several therapeutic approaches, these include, Person-Centred, CBT skills, and Motivational Interviewing.
I currently work with the Priory at their Wellbeing Centre in Southampton, I provide individual 1-1 therapy for people experiencing problems with addictions, (alcohol, drugs and gambling) and mental health - these are face to face sessions as well as on-line therapy. I also offer relationship counselling for couples. I offer a warm, caring safe environment to explore the issues you bring to the session. I have a private practice and currently I offer remote therapy by Zoom, Skype or Teams.
As an integrative therapist I offer a safe space for you to explore the issues you are struggling with in more depth, we can work together in the relationship to for you to work towards. I have over 10 years experience working with addictions, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, bereavement, and relationship issues. We all experience times of difficulty in our lives, when things feel overwhelming, and we feel stuck and unsure how to move forward with our life. Talking with a trained therapist can help make sense of those challenging times and offers a way through them. It helps us to become more self aware and to have the motivation to make progress in our lives.
Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy - and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.
Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.
